Back to Koide II

A few people in Christchurch have finally contributed to the hep-ph neutrino barn dance, citing only new physics papers that were written after the OPERA results. Moreover, they estimate the neutrino masses, obtaining two out of three values that precisely agree with the long known Koide-Brannen masses, about which I often spoke in my years in the department in Christchurch. That is, since one mass is set to a small value, the other two follow from the experimental constraints.

  1. One could consider this further evidence for the OPERA result, but I believe these points have already been covered elsewhere. Besides, quantum gravitational arguments will, in the end, be more compelling than heuristic ones.
