I believe that all observers and experimentalists deserve rewards for their hard work, no matter what their opinions are about the theory.
The Nobel committee, on the other hand, did not choose their words wisely.
We owe a lot to the data, but the interpretation of "dark" energy will haunt the reputation of science for decades.
I note your emphasis on the word 'will' ... as in, we have not yet reached that enlightened stage.
