Check out the latest Categories and Physics conference, in Paris later this year! Back in the old days, I was often told that categories were too esoteric to be applied to physics, but they're pretty trendy these days, even in actual physics departments. And yes, they already have the token woman. I emailed them to say I wasn't quite dead yet, but non academic email accounts often don't make it through the spam filter, I guess. The conference belongs to a Paris motivic conference series.
